teaching a restoration course at the Fashion Institute of Technology in
Manhattan. He is a frequent contributor to Fine Woodworking magazine.

Don't miss this meeting. What Mario does with a hand plane is truly amazing.
June 3 & 4: L.I.W.C. 5th Annual Woodworking Show and Exhibition.
We are adding new vendors every week, and everything seems to be progressing
well. The vendor area is filling nicely with a good variety of products
and materials being sold. Don't forget to save your woodworking dollars
and support our vendors; they are making this show possible.
The seminars offered are top-notch and we are very fortunate to have
such a knowledgeable group of presenters. I believe we can rival some
professional shows in this area. To date we have Ian Kirby, Sal Marino,
Bill Boxer(Apollo), Doug Kenny (International Wood Collectors society),
Ed Ferri (Quality VAKuum Products), plus L.I.W.A. and affiliated club
members. If you are interested in doing a 1-hour seminar, contact us with
your topic and a brief outline.
Club Exhibition. This is the reason for having this show.
We welcome all exhibits, large or small. The facility is attractive and
will showcase your work as it should be. For this we need your help. Let
us know as soon as possible what you will be bringing. We need sizes and
descriptions. Photos are even better. All skill levels should be represented.
If you wish to be listed in the program, we need this information as soon
as possible. Please give all exhibitor information to Charlie James or
Brian Monks.
Toy Workshop. See Jim "Toyman" Clancy if you
would like to participate.
Members Craft Area. Contact Rich Weils. Members will be
able to sell their woodwork in this section. the club will take a small
commission to cover costs. Members participating in this sale will be
expected to lend a hand with show activities.
Tool Garage Sale. See Steve Costello.
Logistics. Charlie James will be coordinating volunteers
before, during and after the show. We would like enough volunteers to
let every member enjoy the show.
Advertising and Publicity: Owen Brady and Gene Kelly. Members
with ideas or expertise in this area are needed. Every woodworker or wanna-be-woodworker
on Long Island should know about this show by June 2nd.
